First birthday card with lots of sparkle!!

My fellow cardmaker that i converted whom i shall call N, has a daughter who is turning 1 on the 24th.  The girls and i are going to her birthday afternoon tea and I made her the following card.

I was inspired by my youngests top that is varying pinks with birds, card didnt really turn out how i pictured in my head but then my cards rarely do!!!

Acetate Cards

I like to show people how to make acetate cards as I find them to be a really easy card that has a huge WOW factor to it and today I was tidying up after making this card with a group of ladies and decided I should actually finish it as opposed to putting it in the pile of half started cards and this is what i came up with

ATC

ATC is one of those things that before Swap Sisters I had never tried and now, well I might possibly be addicted!!  I look forward to Wednesday so that I am challenged yet again to make an ATC, the only problem I have is.......

I just can't seem to make just one! I have made two again, they are different but they were both made from the challenge guidelines
Below is the second one I made

SSSSS No. 5

I am having a HUGE PINK PHASE  at the moment and today I completed the challenge over at Swap Sisters based on the following sketch
This is the third scrapbook sketch I have completed since i became a member of swap sisters about 3 weeks ago and its fantastic as I never seemed to get around to completing a scrapbook page and it was neither from lack of photos or supplies!!!
Now I just can't seem to stop and even better I did a double layout!!  YAY me.

Here are my pages together

Colour Challenge Time at Swap Sisters

This time it was a colour challenge, how bright and lovely is that??

I used the retired Kaleidoscope paper, tempting turquoise cardstock, summer sun cardstock, dimensionals, scallop square and square punch to create my second ever joy fold card!
I havent given it a sentiment yet as I am not sure what occasion I might use it for

2,5,7 10 box

Shelley and Megan challenged me to go out of my comfort zone and make a 3D item, namely the 2,5,7, 10 box and today when hubby got home from work i set about creating it!

Here is my wonky 2,5,7,10 box, don't look too closely and i wont show you the bottom or sides!! Lets just say that I really need to work on following instructions!  This is the 2nd ever box i have tried and the 1st box that wont have the items put in it fall out on the floor!

Thanks for looking!! Amanda

Safe is Nice

When it comes to cardmaking, once i master a technique or card design if i find it easy then its all I do!
Love you EASEL CARDS!!, however my friends Shelley and Megan keep telling me that i must try new things especially 3D(shudders)

I dont do 3D because
1.  Straight and I are not friends!
2.  I dont have a nice scoring system, Megan told me i can use a ruler and bread knife but I think I will pass
3.  My fingers are really fat which gets in the way of fiddly/tricky things

They have challenged me to create a 2,5,7, 10 box and they kindly gave me a month to complete the task, so watch this space as sometime in the next 30 days a wonky box will be making its internet debut!!

I also made my first Joy-fold card the other day for a workshop i have in a few weeks, i think it turned out well but only time will tell if it becomes my new favourite!

Artist Trading Cards

Artist Trading Cards are beautiful mini artworks with wonderful layers and colours and just so pretty!
On SS they have ATC Wednesday and I have been trying my hand at them.
This weeks attempt-Easter theme

I am thinking that I really should be an admirer and give up on the creation part, although i have been told my creations are lovely against those that make them they look a little underdone!!!

This is one of the two i made last Wednesday-trees/foliage theme, their are gremlins at work that are uploading my photos as portrait even though they are landscape in my folder and nobody wants to look at a sideways picture(although it might be an improvement LOL) and im too new at blogging to figure out how to change the way my photo is once i add it!

Have a great day!

Some Challenges

Last night I was chatting to my friends and Shelley told me to do something out of my comfort zone, since I joined Swap Sisters(SS) I have completed the ATC challenge and was preparing for another ATC Wednesday.

Every Sunday SS have a Sweet Sunday Sketch(SSSSS thats a lot of S) and scrapbook pages are definitely out of my comfort zone as well as completing challenges another great site Just Add Ink (JAI)http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/ had a colour challenge so I decided to combine the 2 as well as complete my ATC for SS.  Unfortunately due to JAI closing at midnight last night I missed the opportunity to post my creation, oh well there is always next week!

And this is what i came up with! We gave our oldest daughter a kids digital camera for her 3rd birthday and even though the pictures aren't the best quality for 6x4 prints they do print nicely as a smaller size on my printer, so i made a 6x6 scrapbook page using JAI colour challenge colours of Kraft, Cameo Coral and Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa was the other colour but i didnt have any so i used chocolate chip (just as well i missed the deadline as I didnt get the colours right! LOL)

Have a great day!! Amanda
